Working offline

You no longer need a connection to do your job in the field. You can complete a full authentication or data-collection capture with no network, and the app keeps each session on the device until it can upload. Results come back once the work syncs.

Turning offline mode on

The app header carries an Offline toggle next to the settings gear. Tap it to switch offline mode on or off; a short message confirms Offline mode ON or Offline mode OFF. While offline mode is on, an indicator stays visible on every screen so you always know the app is not uploading.

Use offline mode deliberately when you know you are going somewhere without a signal. You do not have to — captures made with a poor connection are saved the same way — but turning it on stops the app from retrying uploads that cannot succeed.

Bad-network detection

Even with offline mode off, the app watches your connection and steps in when it is down or too weak to work with. When you start a capture on a poor connection, it offers to switch on offline mode: choose Enable offline mode to keep capturing and sync later, or Continue online to carry on as you are. If you continue on a connection that stays poor, it reminds you again periodically — and prompts again if an upload or a result fails on a bad link — rather than leaving you on silent errors. Where a connection is essential, such as signing in with SSO, the action waits until the connection returns. Long steps no longer stall indefinitely either: if fetching a product’s data takes too long on a bad link, it fails with a message so you can retry or switch to offline mode.

Capturing offline

Capturing offline works exactly like capturing online — the same products, the same regions, the same on-device checks for focus, framing, and lighting.

1. Capture the product as usual. The session is saved to the device instead of being uploaded.
2. You can give your feedback straight away — accept or reject and add a comment. It is stored with the session and submitted automatically when the work syncs.
3. Carry on to the next product. You can capture as many items as you need before anything uploads.

The session appears in Event History marked Pending upload.

Storage on the device

Offline sessions take up space on the phone. The app keeps an eye on this and tidies up old, already-synced sessions for you. You can also clear completed sessions yourself from Settings → Storage. If the device runs very low on space, the app asks you to free some before starting a new capture.

Syncing your work

How sessions upload depends on the Offline toggle:

• Offline mode off, connection available — pending sessions upload on their own while you have the app open, one at a time.
• Offline mode on — nothing uploads automatically. You choose when, with Upload on each session in Event History.

To sync manually, open Event History, open a pending session, and choose Upload. Once a session uploads, its result appears in the same row, usually within about a minute while the screen is open.

Feedback on offline captures is final

Because you have already left the product behind, a session captured offline cannot be re-captured after it syncs. Take the same care over framing and lighting offline as you would online — the on-device checks still apply, so a capture that fails them is rejected before it is saved.

Event History

Event History, reached from the main menu, lists your recent and pending sessions, newest first. Each row shows the product, the time it was captured, and a status:

• Pending upload — captured but not yet sent.
• Uploading… — currently syncing.
• Processing — uploaded; waiting for the result.
• A result (Authentic, Not Authentic, Uncertain, or Error) once processing finishes.
• Login required — your session expired before the upload finished; sign in again and the session resumes.
• Locked — the session belongs to a different account that was signed in when it was captured. It reappears when that person signs back in.

Tap a row to act on it:

• Submit feedback — for a completed session, to record or amend your verdict.
• Go to event — open the synced event for full detail.
• Upload — sync a pending session now.
• Delete event — remove the session and its images from this device. If the session has already synced, this does not remove it from the dashboard; the app points you to open it on the dashboard to delete it there.

Event History is your view of your own work on this device. It is not the dashboard — for the full record across your team, open the dashboard and use Live Events.

If a product’s data is not downloaded

The first time you capture a new product, the app downloads a small amount of data for it. If you select a product whose data is missing while you are offline, the app offers to fetch it once a connection is available, rather than failing — so plan ahead and open each product you expect to use while you still have signal.
