Using the mobile app

The mobile app is what field inspectors use to scan a product and get a result. It runs on Android and iPhone, validates each capture on the device before uploading, and returns an outcome within seconds. It also works without a connection — see Working offline.

  1. Open the app and sign in — with SSO the first time; after that the app can unlock with your face, fingerprint, or a PIN (see Faster sign-in).
  2. Tap Scan to authenticate a product, or open Collect Data to gather training images instead.
  3. Search the product list and tap the one you need.
  4. Line the product up with the on-screen guide and tap the shutter.
  5. Wait for the result, then submit your feedback to start the next scan.

Signing in takes you to Home. Four tabs run along the bottom of the screen, with a round Scan button in the middle:

  • Home — your recent activity, and a shortcut to start a scan. If your tenant tracks inspector KPIs, Home also shows your own progress towards them.
  • Scan — opens product selection for an authentication capture.
  • Collect Data — the Data Collection flow for gathering training images.
  • History — your recent and pending captures on this device; see Working offline.
  • Profile — your account, settings, and support. See Settings and account.

A Wi-Fi icon in the header toggles offline mode on or off from almost any screen.

Both Scan and Collect Data open a searchable list of your tenant’s products. Type to filter by name or brand, then tap the one you need.

Collect Data is an upload-only flow for gathering labelled training images. The system produces no verdict. Instead you label what was in front of the camera. Data-collection products carry a badge and confirm with Collected after upload.

Tapping a product opens the camera full-screen. The top bar shows the current region of interest (ROI) to capture — for example “Front Label” — with an info button for expanded instructions, and a step indicator for how many captures the product needs. The camera preview carries an overlay showing exactly where to position the product.

To capture:

  1. Position the product so its label fills the overlay.
  2. Hold steady — the app watches for motion. Wait for the overlay border to turn green (steady) rather than red (moving).
  3. Tap the shutter. The app freezes the preview, checks focus, framing, and blur, then uploads.

If a capture does not pass validation, a message explains what to fix — typically that the object is too close, too far, off-centre, blurry, distorted, not detected, or (for caps) tilted. See Capturing good images for how to get this right the first time.

A flashlight button on the camera view turns the device torch on or off to help you light a scan, and turns itself off once you take the photo. It is available in both capture modes and only appears on devices that have a torch.

Some products need several regions captured — for example a front label and a cap. A step counter (such as “Step 1 of 2”) tracks your progress, and the app advances automatically after each successful upload. Regions marked optional carry an OPTIONAL badge and a Skip button; capture them for extra data or skip to move on.

Once every region is uploaded and processed, the app shows the outcome:

  • Authentic — the product passed.
  • Not Authentic — the product failed the check.
  • Uncertain — the system could not decide confidently.
  • Error — something went wrong during processing.
  • Processing / Timeout — no result arrived within the wait window; check the dashboard later for the final outcome.

Your tenant can customise the wording for specific products (for example Sealed / Open for a cap), but the colour always follows the canonical meaning: green for a positive result, red for a negative one.

After a result you are asked whether you agree:

  • Accept if you agree with the verdict.
  • Reject if you believe it is wrong.
  • Add an optional comment for the reviewing team — useful when you are unsure or have context worth recording.

Tap Confirm to submit. The app then immediately starts a fresh scan of the same product, so to switch products, use the back arrow or another tab first.

In Data Collection mode there is no verdict to accept. Instead you tap the label that matches what you captured (the two buttons’ wording is set per product), optionally add a comment, and confirm.

Open the Profile tab for your account and app settings:

  • Account — your name, username, email, tenant, and role.
  • Language — English or Polish.
  • Dark mode — turn the dark theme on or off.
  • Storage — how much space offline sessions use, with a button to clear completed sessions. See Working offline.
  • Sign in options — manage faster sign-in: switch between biometrics and a PIN, change your PIN, or remove the lock setup. You confirm your current unlock method before anything changes.
  • Support — raise a new ticket, read the reply thread, and follow up. See Getting support.
  • Open Dashboard — opens your tenant dashboard in the browser, already signed in as you.
  • Sign out.

Profile also shows the installed version (for example Version 1.1.0-40); include this string in any support request.

After your first SSO sign-in on a device, the app offers Faster sign-in: unlock with your face or fingerprint, or with a 4–6 digit PIN, instead of going through the SSO page every time. Your session stays signed in until you sign out, and your setup is remembered even then — a different user on the same device still starts fresh.

When the app locks, unlock with your chosen method, or choose Log in with SSO instead. Each failed biometric or PIN attempt counts down; run out of attempts and the app falls back to a full SSO sign-in. This is by design — it stops someone guessing their way past the lock.

Your session refreshes in the background, so you rarely sign in twice in a sitting. After a period of inactivity the app warns you with a countdown before signing you out; any tap, swipe, or capture resets the timer. A capture session also has its own time limit — if you wait too long between regions of a multi-region product, the session resets to the first step.

  • Android 12.0 or higher (later versions recommended), with a 64-bit architecture — or iOS 18.6 or later on iPhone.
  • A connection to return results. You can capture without one — see Working offline — but a result is only produced once the session uploads.
  • Camera and location permissions are required;
